Waiting for the Pack
After a sighting of the Ottawa Sand Pack of African wild dogs playing and drinking from a watering hole in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, the dogs decided to move away.
African wild dogs can cover a lot of ground in a short time, and they have a high amount of stamina.
We had to move well ahead of them and wait for them to come to us, which they eventually did, trotting down one of the dirt roads in the reserve.
In this image, one of the dogs looks alertly into the distance as more of the dogs from the eight-strong pack arrive on the scene.
