African Wild Dog of the Ottawa Sand Pack
Our first morning game drive in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve was special.
For the first time in our African safari adventures over the last ten years, we were enormously privileged to see African wild dogs.
To see an African wild dog is very special, as the species is critically endangered in South Africa.
This dog is a member of the Ottawa Sand Pack, which at the time of our sighting, consists of eight members.
Photographing African wild dogs is very challenging, as they can be very active.
I was fortunate enough to capture one of the dogs resting by the side of one of the dirt roads.
It was a first-time experience. It is early in this safari, so we may encounter the Ottawa Sand Pack again.
