First Breach
Early into an exclusive sunset whale watching cruise off the coast of Sydney, this humpback whale treated us to quite a spectacle as it breached the water during its southern migration.
This was only my second attempt at whale photography, and though sheer luck, I was able to capture a frame-filling image of this humpback whale frolicking in the cool waters.
Whale photography is extremely challenging, as not only do whales tend not to indicate when they are likely to breach, but it is not possible to know exactly where a breach will occur.
