Got Fifty Cents?
Pictured are most of the Australian decimal currency fifty cent coins in my collection.
In Australia, decimal currency was introduced in 1966, with the fifty cent coins having traditionally been used to commemorate events or themes in Australia's history.
I have over 27 fifty cent coins in my collection. While I do not have one of every type of fifty cent coin that has been struck, I have most of them, including the original, round fifty cent coin introduced in 1966. This was later removed from circulation because it was made from silver, and was worth more than its face value.
