Africa Geographic Photographer of the Year 2020

Today I did something quite unusual, and made a decision to enter the Africa Geographic Photographer of the Year 2020 competition.

The prize, in addition to being awarded the title of Africa Geographic 2020 Photographer of the Year, is a five-day safari in the Djuma Private Game Reserve, which is within the the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, South Africa.

Having visited Africa three times now (South Africa once and Kenya twice), I have captured many pleasing images which are certainly worthy entries into a competition of this calibre.

Having had a look at some of the images in the Weekly Selection for the three weeks for which the competition has run thus far, there is quite a high standard, and a broad range of compelling images.

I certainly have a chance, and the worst possible outcome is nothing.

So, I have given it a go.  I have submitted a number of images so far, and I have more to enter.

Wish me luck!
